A peaceful Cotswold walk in wonderful surrounds, beginning in Long Compton and visiting Little Compton. Along the main road through the village, a millennium chronograph is encountered, charting historic events through each century, a marvellous commemorative piece of work that is both eye-catching and compelling. Open countryside follows, with good distant views in pastures and uplands.

Dry-stone walling, remote barns and farm buildings blend perfectly with this most lovely landscape, the contours hilly, the views pleasant and far-reaching. Little Compton is a small village with a beautiful church behind which stands the manor-house, now used as a business school. There are some fairly strenuous ascents, but the joy of this fair country is ever-present and reward enough for every effort.
