The distance between the two villages of Long Hanborough and Church Hanborough is but one mile as the crow flies, but this walk circles round to touch on the outskirts of Eynsham and includes the small community of Freelands, taking some wonderful woodland paths in the area. Both villages are delightful, with tasteful dwellings of local stone and both have welcoming pubs. Indeed, Long Hanborough has two on the main street running through it, the Bell and the George and Dragon, the latter having a large car park for patrons, making it a perfect starting place for this walk, with the prospect of liquid refreshment at the finish. Pleasant scenery and fine views are in good supply throughout the walk, which is not too strenuous for anyone with a reasonable walking capability.
