A leisurely walk from the interesting village of Long Itchington, a mixture of old and new, taking in a lengthy stretch of the Grand Union Canal from the Stockton Locks, continuing along to pass the Bascote flight. The atmosphere is peaceful and serene, the canal and locks, wide and the surrounding area, beautiful and rural. Boaters happily cruise their craft on their slow, unhurried journeys, a world away from the pressures they have left behind them for this slower pace of life. Eventually the canal is left behind for a bridleway, enclosed by trees, then a single-track road amidst lovely country scenes and finally, field-paths back to Long Itchington.

Interesting and easy walk particularly watching the narrowboats. Most of the stiles on this walk are now (Aug 2005)kissing gates.
