The ash lagoons created by a huge coal-fired power station may seem a strange place for a walk, but the landscaping of the lagoons created to house the ash slurry from Longannet Power Station has produced a unique natural habitat with great views over the Firth of Forth and provided access to the once inaccessible industrial archaeology on Preston Island. With the nearby heritage village of Culross, this is a great part of the Kingdom of Fife to visit.
