This is an enjoyable short walk, the paths in good order but would be muddy in winter. There are stiles, but one can go round them. It starts in Mattishall, which has a very unusual round and colourful village sign. In the past, Mattishall was well-known for its sheep market, especially the wool trade. The Swan Inn, near the church, serves food all week and has a good choice of real ales.
