The route is mainly tracks mostly tree-lined and hedged. We saw a pheasant, a heron and green woodpecker; and there would be wildflowers in season. Many poplar trees lined the fields. This is fenland country so there were fine views of the countryside. The first part of the walk is along a permissive track, then along very quiet country lanes and the route crosses one of the 'cut off channels'. There are no stiles on this walk. When we did this walk the pub, The Green Man, had new owners; see below in 'Additional Information'.
