This walk is not to be missed. It commences and ends in a picturesque village in which you can spend some time at the beginning or end of the walk. The initial walk after the village is part of The Pennine Way, with great views, especially over the two reservoirs Grassholme and Selset. The shoreline walk along the reservoir can be extended to be a circular walk using the north shore footpath and is an ideal walk on its own. Again, the Tees Valley Railway Path can be another walk on its own.

We really enjoyed this walk, the views were beautiful out of Middleton in Teesdale and only boggy underfoot around the reservoir.
