When the routes to Snowdon are full, or the high summits are shrouded in cloud, or you just want to get great views of Snowdon (which to be honest you don't get when you climb Snowdon itself!), but you still want a day with some big hills and some effort, then why not give this walk a try? Moel Eilio gives great views of Snowdon and the Menai Strait and getting there takes you on a great up-and-down ridge walk. All this and you won't be mobbed out with other walkers - why wouldn't you try it?

Please bear in mind that these are high mountains and in bad weather and in winter this walk will upgrade to a Mountain Challenge. Good navigation skills will be necessary in bad weather conditions as there are cwm headwalls at points along the walk. Waterproof clothing is essential (even in summer) and additional warm layers should be considered. Proper walking-boots are also necessary. In winter under snow, ice-axe and crampons should be carried and walkers should know how to use them.
