This is only a short walk but really captures the beauty of this valley and its surrounding mountains. Starting off at a lay-by next to Sygun Copper Mine, the route follows a public footpath around the mines to the south-west with a continuous section of ascent to the 300m contour. The route meanders around smaller rocky peaks to a 320m unnamed summit with some amazing views of Yr Aran to the north.

The route then passes old quarry workings and a faint intermittent path south-,east for a trip to the top of Moel y Dyniewyn at 382m above sea level for more breathtaking views of the area (but in my opinion the best views are yet to come!) The route descends close to Afon Goch (stream) to a footpath which drops down to Llyn Dinas (lake) and the views along this stretch are some of the best on the whole walk.
