This walks starts north of Bracknell, easily reached from the M4 junction near Wokingham. It is 95% on paths and bridleways with just three short sections of roadway. Although it's over six miles in total, it could in theory be made shorter by taking one or two short cuts, which are described below. It is a companion walk to 'Moss End – The Cut - Back' (Walk 6862), but goes north and anticlockwise, rather than south and clockwise!

I’ve recently revisited this walk. The major short-cut at WM11 cuts 30 mins from the 2 hour full route, and is a good option for a shorter walk as Weller’s Lane is generally quiet and picturesque. The earlier short-cut at WM9 isn’t recommended; it saves an additional 15 minutes but, as the directions note, you’d be missing one of the most tranquil and attractive sections of the walk.

This is a much nicer walk than its companion (6862), mostly because it doesn't venture too near Bracknell and stays on very quiet traffic-free lanes and byways. I walked the full route without short-cuts in exactly 2 hours so the actual distance is probably shorter than quoted.

Good walk with clear instructions. I have a few suggestions/comments. When travelling by car to start of walk, you must follow A3095. Outside of Bracknell, turn left at traffic lights near to Shepherds House pub to continue on A3095. Dont go straight on like I did! In WM07 at Whitelock's livery, the first turning heads into the livery. You need the second turn to left which isn't that straight at all! With short stops, it can be walked in 2 hours 40 minutes and not the 3 hours 37 minutes suggested.
