There are many hill-forts in Wales and many of them are called Twyn y Gaer. This one lies on the edge of Mynydd Illtud Common, which lies near the Mountain Centre which is a National Park Information Centre. The centre provides toilets and good food as well as information and fine views. The hill-fort has the usual fine view from the top. On this walk we also pass right round the hill, which helps to get the feel of the size. Look out for red kites and other birds of prey, as well as larks and wheatears.

Another fine walk from Pat. Great views and good directions. It was nice to be able to park the car at the side of the road and walk straight onto the walk without any road walking. Superb! 10/10.
