This stunning circular walk starting in Nayland, Suffolk is personally one of my favourites. It has some stunning views along the route. You will cross the River Stour a few times, pass through four villages, two farms, using field edges and enclosed paths, and the country lanes walked are quiet so traffic noise is hardly ever about.

Plenty of refreshments are available via the three pubs you pass, but the Beehive pub in Little Horkesley has limited opening times (see their website). The Anchor Inn in Nayland is situated next to the River Stour making having a drink at the seating area beside the river even more enjoyable.

Generally all the paths were clear (July 2022) with the exception of a few enclosed ones being slightly overgrown but not causing a problem. Overall a fantastic family walk.

Lovely walk, varied with plenty of views. Excellent guidance but at point 18-20 it was so overgrown with nettles and a fallen tree we had to detour over a field and then at 19 we went left and followed another footpath to join the lane further down from Little Horkeseley where we found the Beehive Pub closed down.
