Nene Valley Railway and Ferry Meadows

Take the Nene Valley Railway preserved steam train from Wansford to Ferry Meadows and walk back along the meandering River Nene, great for little boys (of all ages) for the view of the railway track for most of the walk and close to Sibson private airfield for light aircraft.

Fantastic outing. What could be better than a train ride followed by an interesting route across Ferry Meadows Country Park footpaths and then along less frequented footpaths by the Nene. The terrain is always interesting. Top Tip: Take the train to Orton Mere, walk back past Thorpe Wood Golf Course then across the footbridge into Ferry Meadows and then to the Milton Bridge.
