From the Tyne Riverside Country Park, we follow the Hadrian's Wall Trail to Wylam along the Wylam Waggonway, passing the birthplace of George Stephenson, famous for 'Stephenson's Rocket'.

Crossing the River Tyne, we then follow the Keelman's Way path back to Newburn, to cross the river at the site of the Battle of Newburn Ford (28.08.1640) between the English and the Scots.

The final stretch takes us back to the country park, passing Keelman's Lodge, where meals, drinks and Bed & Breakfast are on offer.
