Newlands - Middleton - Ousel Valley Park - Oakgrove - Woolstone - Grand Union Canal - Springfield - Newlands

This walk follows a number of the excellent pathways which are to be found throughout the Milton Keynes area. Some will be shared with cyclists. There are toilets, restaurants and many other facilities at Willen Lake. The River Ousel, beside which you will walk for some way, feeds into Willen lake, which is both large and picturesque, but also caters for a variety of water sports. The river and the lake are incorporated into the complex drainage systems which control flooding in much of eastern England via the River Great Ouse and massive sluices near Kings Lynn to The Wash. Some details about this are to be found on a notice-board on Walk 6931. You will pass medieval fishponds and again there is information on a notice-board.
