From Newlyn an easy start along the coastal path to fascinating Mousehole – well worth spending some time in exploring. A steep climb out of the little harbour brings us to the coastal path proper which begins easily enough. Soon we have to descend some high steps and from there we undulate our way with a little clambering here and there and one or two wet patches where we meet springs. We pass through a Cornish Wildlife Preserve area and then drop down into picture-perfect Lamorna Cove complete with café. A steep climb up the lane soon brings us to the quaintly named Lamorna Wink pub and from here we have another climb up a narrow lane to reach the higher and flatter ground. Now we have some field footpaths, sadly not well-signed, to bring us to Paul. From here more cross-country brings us to the lane that leads us steeply back down into Newlyn, arriving close to the fishing harbour.
