A fairly easy walk featuring stunning views across the Cherwell Valley and crossing the historic Southern Oxford Canal, popular with boaters all year round. The villages of North Aston and Somerton are interesting, with attractive stone cottages and houses and quiet streets on which to pass them by with admiring glances. Much of the walk is on good tracks, though the valley floor can be muddy or even flooded in very wet weather, but the whole route is rural and beautiful.

We both enjoyed this walk and it was very much as described by the contributors. The village of North Aston is very attractive and the walk takes you down to the Oxford Canal towpath. From WM10 to WM11 the views are delightful across the valley. After WM11 when you reach the corner of the copse, pass alongside to the right to reach WM12.
