A delightful route from the sleepy village of Pentridge through the varied downland north of Cranborne, including Pentridge Hill, Boulsbury Wood and Martin Down with its bird reserve and historic earthworks. The number of stables in the area means paths can be well-churned after wet weather. There are no facilities on the route.

Hi folks, the comments made in 2013 remain relevant ot this walk. Also the route from Boveridge farm to way mark 8 is confusing, limited signage. Walking from the farm to the wood and junction turn left and follow the loggers track until you meet a green track leading ahead, this will get you to 8.Views are wonderful. The track leading to the pig farm has 2 trees down making it very difficult to get through ad the track all of the way to pig farm barns is very muddy. Good job it was a fine day today.

Firstly map 118 is insufficient for this walk .You need OL22 as well. The detailed directions a rather short on detail and I got lost off 118 relying at this stage on the written word which proved inadequate. It makes me realize that one needs to plan the route on maps before you start.
