The walk is best treated as a leisurely amble from one feature to the next, each being savoured, in some cases, literally. The Rosary Cemetery is the oldest non-denominational cemetery in the country and is atmospheric. The Lion Hill Nature Reserve is a delight in spring and Kett's Heights, in front of the prison, a vantage point to look across Norwich with the cathedrals and castle dominating the vista. Tea in the prison and a stroll across Mousehold Heath lead in time to the wonderfully eclectic Magdalen Street, before a final enchanting finish alongside the River Wensum.

Sadly, Britannia Cafe at the prison has closed. A loss for walkers and the rehabilitation benefits for inmates. There is another on Mousehold Heath, not a lot further on, but it lacks the fine view over the city.
