The walk starts at the Wagon Load of Lime public house, Old Arley. We head towards the local sports centre and park, then cross fields to enter Arley Wood. From here the walk takes us through Ballards Green Farm, then along a quiet lane to Ansley. Although we turn away from it, you can easily make your way to the high street, where you will find pubs and local post office and store. We now skirt around Oakridge Golf Course and across the local railway line, then via more fields back to Old Arley.

This could be a 5 star walk because it’s a nice walk with some nice views. Unfortunately what spoils it a bit is the state of some of the footpaths. A couple of the ones across fields don’t seem to exist so you have to walk around the edge to get to the other side. No big deal really but the worse thing is the enclosed paths towards the end of the walk. These are not well maintained at all and covered in nettles and brambles. So if you do this walk don’t wear shorts like we did but put on long trousers. Both of our legs looked like we had been attacked by wild cats It certainly is not the walk creators fault but it did spoil the walk to a certain extent
