This walk guide was originally created by Graham Wilson but Walkingworld are very grateful for Phil Catterall to be taking over this route, February 2022.

This is a short walk, which despite being only 2.5 miles long, offers all the charms of the North York Moors National Park. It starts in the beautiful York stone village of Osmotherley, offering all of the usual amenities to a high standard. It uses little byways to leave the village, dropping into a steep valley, before climbing out and up to a green lane. This affords special views across the terrain and back over the Vale of York. A stretch through deep woodland rings the changes as you enter the home stretch. Our walk was in the cold months of February when the snow was lying. Osmotherley residents seem to challenge each other with the quality of their snowmen.
