For those walking the Cleveland Way, this walk constitutes the penultimate section. For daywalkers, it is possible to return using the 80 / 89 / M9 and M2 services (changing at Chop Gate or Stokesley). You can park either in Osmotherley or at the Sutton Bank Visitor Centre, but the walk begins in Osmotherley. From here, the walk climbs unrelentingly up to the escarpment that forms the western edge of the North York Moors. This edge is followed quite closely during our walk and on a clear day, the views over the Vale of York to the Yorkshire Dales beyond, are stunning.

Dog-walkers, please note the presence of the occasional dog-unfriendly stile and the possibility of sheep and other livestock en route.
