Born of the need for a 'short' walk during the 2020 Covid-19 pandemic, the route starts by the expanse of Oulton Broad, follows the Angles Way long-distance trail, then returns across the open space of Camps Heath. Finally, the peaceful Bond's Meadow, which isn't a meadow at all, but a wood, leads us back to Oulton Broad.

At Waypoint 14, the permissive path is indeed now fenced off. There are no alternatives in the immediate location, so it has to be a short road section of about 100 metres. Although a minor road, it can get a little busy at peak times, but the visibility for both walkers and drivers is very good. There is a narrow grass verge, which helps.

Grid ref:TM518950 At waypoint 14 there is no longer access to a permissive path through a gap in the hedge.Instead it is necessary to walk along the narrow verge on quite a fast road. We did this walk in early October 2022 and it was a good varied easy walk. We chose to start from Nicholas Everitt Park which has good parking at a reasonable rate and has a good cafe and museum .
