Overstrand is a small coastal village close to the tourist destination of Cromer. It offers the walker an unspoiled visit to this wonderful area of coastline. The route starts off at the main car park in the village and follows a public footpath along the very top of the coastal cliffs. The views out to sea and down to the beach are fantastic, but only get better as you progress past the golf course and to the higher cliffs nearer Cromer. From over 200ft above the sea the view over towards Cromer Pier is spectacular. The route gently falls and climbs its way towards Cromer Lighthouse, where the route turns and follows a narrow road down along the edge of the golf course. The route then joins the coast road back towards Overstrand.

We completed the walk on Wednesday 8 September, the weather was fabulous. We started the walk at point 7 and finished at point 6. The road between 6 and 7 is very busy and really no fun at all so we made the decision not to proceed. The walk along the cliff is also rather spoilt as much of the path is now enclosed by high growth so the views to the sea are limited. From point 6 we walked into Cromer for ice cream and walked back by the sea to Overstrand. The tide was out so we went barefoot on the beautiful sandy beach and paddled in the warm North Sea, never thought I would experience that. We also came across the 'Bansky' painted on the sea wall as you leave Cromer. The detail was amazing and the humour of the art superb. Actually seeing it for real was very rewarding.
