Beginning from sleepy Parcent, we begin with an easy ramble through timeless countryside full of orange, almond and olive trees. Our next stage is a climb above a steep gorge that leads us to the Coll de Rates, from where the vistas are simply stunning right across the valley to the Mediterranean in the distance. Our way down is by a zigzag path - a little tricky in places but easily manageable with care – until we are back in the valley again with only a short cross-country hike back to the village once more.
