This walk can be enjoyed in any season. The spring sees plenty of birds in the RSPB reserve; allow time to visit the hides there. In autumn the woods are well-endowed with a variety of fungi. Visit a working mine and see the many ducks on Cannop Ponds, particularly the fifty or so mandarin ducks that nest in the trees there.
