Parkhouse Hill (now opened to access) and Chrome Hill near Longnor are two great short ridges that give walkers a real airy feel when traversed, without any real exposure or danger. This figure-of-eight walk allows both ridges to be done and by using Dowal Dale, it not only takes the walker along a classic Peak District 'dale' but allows Chrome Hill to be tackled by the best ascent route.

We did this walk in winter as can be seen from the photos and it's a great walk for practising winter hill skills, but please ensure you are carrying appropriate clothing and equipment if you do. You can see the difference the weather makes as Walk 6560 tackles the ascent from a different direction.
