From the lay-by, you're straight onto The Jubilee Trail and Pimperne Down. Leaving the Trail quite early on it's onto a bridleway for a mile, which takes us through narrow hedgerows and woods. Then a short stint on a quiet road, over the busy Higher Shaftesbury Road and onto Smugglers Lane. We stay on this bridleway, along broad grass tracks and through ancient woodland, for nearly two miles, looking out for deer along the way. A steep descent then, carefully to cross the busy A350 to walk next to the crystal-clear water of The River Iwerne, onto The Stour Valley Way and into Stourpaine. There are some lovely houses here in Stourpaine, also a drink in The White Horse Inn if you've timed it right! Crossing the A350 again and back onto The Jubilee Trail and that gradual climb, but rewarded with spectacular views back towards Stourpaine, staying on The Trail back to the start.
