Start with an interesting walk through the trees, the floor rich with moss. Contour above the valley and then reach the Stone of Revenge, before walking the ridge between the Grwyne Valley and the Llanthony Valley. Return through the trees to the valley. There is plenty of birdlife and glorious views.

Walk completed on 19/01/2020. Lovely walk on a bright frosty day, with a 7 and 10 year old. Being winter it was very muddy on the lower ground near the river. Some moaning on the steady climb up on to the ridge. Unfortunately we missed the left by the 'pile of stones' and walked a bit further on. A little scramble down through the heather had us meeting up with the original path. I used a GPS activity tracker that is accurate. Walk was 5.57 miles, moving time 2hrs 20 minutes. The walk could be extended by visiting the top of Bal Mawr. I look forward to exploring the area further in the future.
