Beautiful countryside on the border of England and Wales with wide-ranging views - and a Pub to quench your thirst at the end.

From Pont Rhys Powell, follow a wooded ridge before crossing the Honddu to the pretty village of Cwmyoy. Then climb up a valley to the eastern ridge of the Black Mountains and return on the Offa's Dyke Path.

An outstanding walk, from mountains to clear flowing streams, waterfalls and wildlife. Be careful at the start or you will indeed miss the narrow entrance into the woods and the drop down the hill. Also at the very top of the valley, a way has been made by others, to cross the barbed wire fence. My photos: https://www.leejameskershaw.com/2020-08-pont-rhys-powell-cwmyoy
