This walk is across open mountain and thus there is no shelter from the wind and nowhere for an easy comfort stop. However, the views are some of the best in mid-Wales. On a clear day it is possible to see for miles in all directions and really get the feel of the topography of the area. Red kites are native to the district and can normally be seen performing aerial acrobatics. Some of the route is across open moorland, so some navigational skill is necessary.
