The first part of the walk is along a ridge which gives views over Cheshire, Manchester and the Peak District. On a clear day you may be able to see the Welsh hills. The path leading down to the reservoir has good views down the valley and sometimes you can see the sailing boats, from the club, crossing the water.
The return path goes up by the circular hut shrine, which seems to be a small, mysterious church.

The ground can be muddy in wet weather and there is little protection from strong winds on the open sections, but the views are magnificent. The valley is more sheltered.

7/2/2014 - Joyce Pentland

Completed this walk today, 2nd July 2014. It was excellent, navigation was easy to follow despite losing the second page, doh! My unstapled pages blew away as soon as I opened the car door & we were unable to retrieve waypoints 3-7 but it was straightforward enough. Thanks & keep up the good work. Joyce Pentland
