This walk goes from high on the ridge near Pym's Chair, down into the Goyt Valley, but taking a forest track before reaching the reservoirs. The walk through the trees sometimes gives views of the water below. Look out for birds, squirrels and other woodland wildlife. There are also wildflowers to be seen near the edge of the track.

The path meanders about and through a few farmyards before heading back up to the ridge. This part of the walk has good views back to the east, across the Peak District. Up on the ridge are the Windgather Rocks, popular with rock-climbers of all ages. Have a look over the edge and see how steep they are, but take care.

The path back to the Pyms car park gives views to the right towards Cheshire and the left side looks into the Peak District.

A lovely walk with a good mix landscapes. We did this on a warm June day but with a nice breeze to stop us getting too hot. The directions were clear and very easy follow. Note that the stiles at waypoints 13 and 14 have been changed to gates
