The first part of the walk is along a ridge which gives views over Cheshire, Manchester and the Peak District. On a clear day you might see Mam Tor to the east and the Welsh hills to the west.

Leaving the ridge takes you into a quiet valley with no roads. It is wonderfully peaceful, but can be muddy in wet weather. Remember to look back up the valley as you travel down it. The view can be spectacular. Also watch out for birds and the occasional wild animal.

Lovely, easy to navigate, walk with beautiful views. I suspect it will be busy on weekends. It was quite boggy in parts despite recent heat wave so be prepared for wet feet. As I've discovered all over this area, dogs have to be kept on lead April to July because of ground-nesting birds
