An excellent circular walk near Nantwich incorporating a long length of the famous Llangollen canal towing path, a very rural lane and footpaths over cultivated farmland. There is an element of uncertainty regarding the grade of this walk, as you never know what the farmers will have done to their fields. In spring and summer, the route is likely to be through well-established crops. Previous walkers having trampled out the route to make navigation easy. However, in winter the farmer may have ploughed or harrowed out of existence all traces of the route to make the grade more moderate. In compiling the directions, I have assumed that the route of the footpaths will be invisible. This walk includes instructions for walkers from moored canal boats.

This walk is suitable for children, teenagers, senior citizens and anyone in-between. Only good for small dogs due to the numerous stiles, and hopeless for wheelchairs and buggies. Suitable footwear will be anything stout and flat soled, but boots will be best and there should be no problems for anyone wearing shorts. There are refreshments, toilets and picnic tables at the pub at the start and finish of the walk. The pub car park where the walk starts from is for patrons only, and if you book in advance, you should be able to get a good meal with your drink; an excellent finish to a good walk.
