A great walk in a figure-of-eight, beginning and ending at Long Bank, Bewdley at the Running Horse pub, or the Camping and Caravanning Club site down the road. Because it's a figure-of-eight it's ideal for beginners as it can easily be split into two.

The walk provides wonderful views of Birmingham and the Black Country in the distance and all you'd expect from the seasonal changes in woodlands including many bluebells at Easter.

Halfway through the walk you can, if you choose, take a small detour to the banks of the River Severn.

Walked today on 17.4.17 after overnight rain. Damp but not muddy. Apologies to Iain and friends. We have taken updated photos and reworked the wording of the instructions. A group of us ( all reasonably experienced walkers) did this walk on a grey and very muddy day in January. As we were staying on the outskirts of Bewdley we picked it up from point 6. The steep drop at point 7 was quite tricky in the mud and we saw no 'green notice-board' at point 9 so ended up lost in the woods for a while before relocating the route. Point 10 to 11 was a long slog across very muddy fields. By the time we had made it to the Running Horse pub we had been walking for about 2 hours and decided to cut our losses and head straight back. I imagine on a sunny day and dry underfoot this could be a very different experience but not one I could recommend for winter walking.
