The walk starts on Seafield Road, Blackburn, near a bus stop. It follows the River Almond, crossing the river a few times, passing the Almond Valley Heritage Centre on the way to Livingston Shopping Centre. A birdwatching viewpoint is a highlight of this route. This walk has a very rural feel to it, even when it passes into the New Town.
