The 350 bus service runs regularly between Hull, Barton-upon-Humber and Scunthorpe. This walk allows us to alight at the top of Sawcliffe Hill and walk through the pretty little village of Roxby. The walk then crosses to Winterton over a footpath known as the Roxby Trods. If Roxby Trods is famous for anything at all, it's that there have been Big Cat sightings here and a photo of a large paw print was taken by a local journalist, so keep your eyes skinned. Roxby Trods leads us into the village of Winterton. Having walked through Winterton, we descend gradually through open countryside on good tracks, into the Ancholme Valley. Easy walking with no uphill whatsoever,
the walk ends at Ferriby Sluice, where you can enjoy a relaxing drink or meal, while watching the sailing boats navigate the lock and sailing on the estuary.. and if you're lucky you may spot porpoise and seals. which are often seen from here.
