This is a super walk from the charming Cotswold village of Salford to visit Little Rollright and The Rollright Stones. This ancient stone circle stands on a site beside the road and on the other side stands the King Stone, with the Whispering Knights nearby. Local legend has it that the stones are petrified knights turned to stone by a witch when they were plotting against their king. It is an exciting place of historical interest and one can sense the atmosphere of magic and mystery. Do not pass by without stopping to inspect the site and ponder upon these stones of incredible age and what they could tell us, were they able to speak. The wonderful countryside scenes and the historical aspect make this walk a very satisfying experience.

Did this walk 02/01/21, what is probably a lovely walk in the summer or dry weather, today it was just a nightmare, horrendous deep mud for at least half of the walk, definitely one to avoid after heavy or prolonged rain.
