This is a very pleasurable and easy walk with panoramic views of the Cley Marshes and countryside. In springtime, Salthouse Heath is covered in gorse; this is followed by bluebells and heather. The seaside plant alexanders grows profusely here; the whole of the plant is said to be edible.

A terrific short walk with some fabulous views of the marshes and North Sea. It is rather easy to go off track across the Heath as there are several points where some guesswork is called for. If you reach an open car park and attempt to go left across an area occupied by 'Billy Goats', you are in the wrong place. You need to exit this car park and turn right onto the country lane and walk in a straight line back to your car.
