Dog Friendly Pub walk; this circular walk makes use of very popular trails through the popular and picturesque Pettypool Wood, and round the wooded wildlife and fishing lakes. There are some very rural tracks and quiet lanes, but most of the walk is along good paths. There are a few stiles and kissing gates, but they are all dog friendly. There are fields of crops to walk alongside of, and only one to cross over. There are no meadows to cross so you won't meet up with any farm animals, but you can expect to meet-up with other dog walkers. There's a deep valley to cross to reach Pettypool Wood, but the rest of the walk is quite level. It is best walked in the summer as the paths round the lakes can be quite muddy in winter or after heavy rain.

Dogs are allowed outside at the picnic tables in the delightful landscaped pub garden, and friendly dogs are permitted near the bar area - the pub staff love to see dogs. This walk is probably suitable for children, senior citizens and anyone in-between. Excellent for dogs, but hopeless for wheelchairs and buggies. Suitable footwear will be anything flat soled will but boots will be best and essential in winter, but avoid wearing shorts as you are likely to encounter some nettles. On your route there are no refreshments or any other facilities except those at the pub at the start and finish, and the odd bench seat. If you book in advance you should be able to get a good meal with your drink; an excellent finish to a good walk.
