From the smart little town of Santa Gertrudis with its many cafés and restaurants, we shall begin this delightful country ramble by heading north. This way leads us through the rich and fertile farming land before later we turn east and continue our way through the wooded footpaths of Puig d'en Mestre. We soon emerge once more into timeless Ibiza countryside, ablaze with colour, as we make our way to the tiny hamlet of San Lorenzo. Just below the wonderful old church is the welcome sight of a café. There is another charming garden café just across the road. Refreshed, we now begin heading south-west through countryside which if anything, is even more lovely. Towards the end we climb up to a collection of houses on an isolated hill before dropping down to make our way back across the course of the Rio de Santa Eularia to Santa Gertrudis and a well-earned break.

We walked this one again in May 2018. There is one minor navigational change at way mark 9 and we have sharpened up the text in places as well as changing some photos. This remains a truly wonderful country ramble and is strongly recommended. Jim Arymar.
