This relatively short walk goes along a charming stretch of the Ribble to the south of Settle before returning to the upper part of the town, where it may be shortened. It continues for 1km on a narrow lane with good views before reaching the village of Langcliffe. If you come on a Sunday in the summer you will be able to follow signs to the Village Institute where teas are served and also browse the huge collection of books in the church. The walk drops to cross the Settle - Carlisle railway and then the Ribble, which is followed back to the start. There are no steep gradients and few stiles.
