From Shipston-on-Stour, cross the Stour, follow the river through the villages of Barcheston and Willington and view the fine house at Tidmington across the Stour before reaching Burmington. Crossing the A3400 at Tidmington, follow a quiet lane to Ditchford Frary, the site of a medieval village. Cross fields and the Fosse Way to reach Stretton-on-Fosse and a welcome stop at The Plough for excellent food and beer. Return to Shipston via field-tracks and paths, passing through Ditchford Farm, where North Cotswold Brewery and a pottery are housed.
