From the lovely setting of Shutford with its attractive stone dwellings, the route takes paths out into open countryside with very fine views to reach Epwell, another lovely, idyllic village. Burdrop is part of the Parish of Sibford and is equally charming in its own right. The contours of the landscape are stunning, with hills rising quite steeply, adding drama to beauty. A few exertions are needed, but are well-rewarded.

Thanks Ron and Jenny, a great walk and beautiful countryside and some wonderful views. I only gave the walk 3 stars because I think a few things may have changed since it was originally walked. The footpath at waypoint 3 is now quite overgrown and some new houses have been built along the line of the path - so plenty of nettles and debris on the path. So don't go out in spring/summer with shorts and a T shirt. There are some exceedinly 'dodgy stiles' and in a couple of places they are there but broken. So you need to be able to climb a fence. The paths across some of the fields were ok when we walked (end March) but in summer you wouldn't see the paths because of the crops. Overall it felt like the farmers were looking to discourage walkers and there weren't many signs that there had been a lot so the farmers may well be 'winning' But it was a sunny day and the sun was on our backs and the ground was dry so without the issues above the walk would have got at least 4 stars
