The Monnow Valley Walk traces the river from Monmouth back to its source near Hay-on-Wye. This walk follows part of it for the outward route and returns along the Monnow Valley. There are always plenty of flowers and birds to be seen in this unspoilt part of Monmouthshire.

Walked sept 2020 whilst camping nearby. Overall a fine walk. However WP5. When you climb the stile the instructions tell you to follow the path that would run parallel with the track and then bare right (see OS Map). However the reality is this is totally overgrown, and although you can be a martyr (as we were) and fight your way through, it's easier to follow the walkers post, or even stay on the road and pick the track up on the other side of the house described. We haven't added a correction, as the path may get cleared in the future - but bare in mind.
