Starting in the car park next to Spetisbury Primary School we get straight onto, but only briefly, the former Somerset and Dorset Railway line between Bailey Gate and Blandford, continuing through fields on bridleways, footpaths, The Stour Valley Way and a short stretch next to the busy A350, before a final two-mile section of the former railway line. On this part there are plenty of clues as to where the former local stations were along the former line.
