Leaving the market town of Spilsby, the route quickly heads across the shallow Lymn Valley to the village of Partney, thence by a quiet country lane to Ashby by Partney and its forgotten church. The walk alongside the Lymn, here called the Steeping River, is picturesque as it takes us to Halton Holegate. An ancient track, Peasegate Lane, threads its way to Toynton All Saints, before we head back to Spilsby via a small industrial estate built on the site of the former railway station.
