A splendid walk, which affords fine views of the Welland Valley and passes through a classic Welland Valley village. Stamford is a beautiful Georgian town, which provides an excellent start and end to the walk; there's a wealth of exquisite architecture, plenty of cafes and pubs and lots of good shopping.

The walk itself is relatively straightforward, but long enough to justify a hearty pub lunch or cream tea at the end of it. Good for families and groups of friends.

Nice walk with good views, path not easy to find just after ruins and before you go under A1 for second time.
