As the home of William Shakespeare, Stratford-upon-Avon attracts three million vistors a year and is one of the UK's top tourist destinations. Three of the five Shakespeare-related homes run by the Shakespeare Birthplace Trust are in the town centre and included in this walk along with other historic buildings, the canal and River Avon. It is an easy, flat town centre walk all on paths and pavements.

This can be combined with Walk 4791, which is a circular walk including Stratford and the village of Shottery, where Anne Hathaway's Cottage is located.
